Operations Manual

Objective. The purpose of this operations manual is to regulate the organization and operation of Archivos de Neurociencias.

 

Definitions. For the purposes of this operations manual, the following shall be understood as:

- Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía: Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía Manuel Velasco Suárez: INNNMVS

- Publisher: Publicaciones Permanyer 

- Journal: Archivos de Neurociencias

 

General Terms

- The following criteria are mandatory for all individuals involved in the operation of the Journal, including authors and peer reviewers.

- INNNMVS is the proprietor of the Journal, the trademark rights, and the corresponding copyrights.

- During the term of the agreement between INNNMVS, and the Publisher, the latter has full and exclusive publishing rights to the Journal.

- The trademark rights and copyrights owned by INNNMVS must be acknowledged in a disclaimer by the Publisher responsible for the Journal's publication; it will also be announced that it is an official publication of INNNMVS.

- The Journal is published quarterly, online, and in Spanish and English.

- The content of the Journal will be freely available to the scientific community, with no cost to authors or readers.

- Members of the Journal's Editorial Committee will be selected based on their experience and position within their scientific field, knowledge of the subject matter, and consideration of the geographical scope, current or anticipated, of the scientific discipline of the journal.

 

 Composition

- The Journal's operational staff consists of 1 Executive Editor, 1 Chief Editor, the Coeditors, and the Associate/Area Editors

- The Chief Editors must have experience in the publishing field and will be responsible for implementing best editorial practices in the scientific evaluation and editing process of received manuscripts. Similarly, they must ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of editorial processes, identifying risks and implementing improvement plans as they deem necessary.

- Associate Editors will be selected by the Chief Editors.

- Associate Editors must have editorial experience. Their role is to support the Chief Editors in all their functions, evaluate submitted manuscripts associated with their thematic area, assign reviewers they deem optimal according to their specialties, as well as any other functions assigned to them.

- Members of the Editorial Board may remain indefinitely in their positions based on their participation in the Journal's processes. They must provide an inclusive editorial perspective, promoting and attracting new authors, reviewing studies associated with their thematic area, suggesting initiatives, and contributing as authors.
